Description

This ODT file contains the text of an interview with Fr. Thomas Hopko, Living in Communion. He starts out by talking about the real meaning of forgiveness. Then, in my favorite part of the interview, he jumps into interpreting the second greatest commandment; it has really been butchered by modern "theologians" and he does a great job of stating the Orthodox view. He then continues on with the theme of forgiveness, bringing up many other beliefs including the right understanding of Heaven and Hell, the personal, communal nature of humans, the difference between free will and having many choices, etc. He hits on so many points that he ends up providing a wealth of knowledge about the Orthodox worldview as a whole. While there is not as much depth to his remarks as might be found in a much larger text, this interview is a great starting point for dialogue about Orthodoxy. I've used it since the 2000s and had it bookmarked for years, but only downloaded my own copy on January 12, 2013.

Authorship

This interview was given by Fr. Thomas Hopko. It is unclear who the interviewer is or when it took place, though I am guessing sometime in 2005. I also do not know much about the surrounding context or if it was released under any kind of copyright license.

I created this metadata on January 12, 2013 and last modified it on August 23, 2013.
