Are Christians to follow written words alone, or also oral traditions?

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

Do the writers of the Bible use non-Biblical sources?

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. (2 Timothy 3:8, from the Book of Jasher, Chapter 79)

Is the Bible the ground of the truth for Christians?

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the Church of the Living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. (1 Timothy 3:15)

Should, or even can, the Bible be understood without guidance?

And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:31)

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (2 Peter 1:20)

Will the Bible, or something else, lead Christians to all truth?

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth… (John 16:13)

While the Bible certainly is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16), does it anywhere claim to be the whole truth or the complete revelation of Christ?

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. (John 21:25)
